A Historic Gem
Situated within the heart of Prague, Czech Republic, Kabelovna Studios finds its home in a former electrical cable-making factory dating back to 1908. Nestled in the district of Holesovice, this historic facility is an integral part of Prague’s rich industrial heritage, having been a cornerstone of the city’s workers’ colony since the 1870s. Over the years, the area surrounding the factory has evolved, maintaining its industrial allure amidst the urban landscape.
A Creative Hub
Kabelovna Studios represents a unique fusion of artistic endeavors housed within the cavernous hall of the former factory. Here, a diverse array of creative entities converge, including a fashion designer, a painter, a screen-printing production business, and recording studios. This eclectic mix fosters a vibrant and dynamic creative environment, where ideas flow freely and collaboration thrives.
Harmonizing Heritage and Modernity
Embracing the factory’s industrial legacy, B² Architecture has transformed Kabelovna Studios into a cutting-edge post-production and music recording space. Retaining the raw aesthetic of the original structure, the studios feature exposed brick walls, soaring ceilings, and expansive skylights that flood the space with natural light. These elements seamlessly merge with modern design touches, such as sleek glass partitions and contemporary furnishings, creating a harmonious blend of old and new.
Spatial Elegance
The spatial layout of Kabelovna Studios is both functional and intuitive. A central gathering room serves as the studio’s focal point, welcoming visitors with its reception area, seating nooks, and kitchen line. Behind partially glazed doors lie the recording studios, each equipped with its own voice-over booth. The living room exudes an inviting ambiance, with a Bomma Orbital chandelier suspended above a wooden table, accentuating the space’s lofty dimensions. Plants adorn the black walls, adding a touch of greenery and separation within the expansive hall.
Inspirational Atmosphere
The interior design of Kabelovna Studios strikes a delicate balance between inspiration and comfort. Recycled leather seats and vintage armchairs coexist harmoniously, while foldable theater seats invite guests to partake in the creative process. Custom-designed neon lights illuminate the space, casting a warm glow reminiscent of sound waves pulsating through the recording studios. Each studio is adorned with a neon number, inviting artists to explore and engage with their surroundings.
In essence, Kabelovna Studios embodies the spirit of creativity, innovation, and artistic expression, serving as a beacon of inspiration within Prague’s historic industrial landscape.
