Walmart+ subscribers are in for a treat as they get the opportunity to taste-test the latest Oreo flavor before anyone else.
Oreo recently unveiled its newest creation, the Oreo Blackout Cake cookie, a limited-edition flavor set to hit store shelves nationwide next week. Walmart’s merchandising director, Kyle Lanham, made the announcement on LinkedIn, revealing that Walmart+ members could snag these special cookies starting Wednesday afternoon, thanks to a partnership with Mondelez International, the company behind the Oreo brand.
In his LinkedIn post, Lanham exclaimed, “Exciting news! We’ve teamed up with Mondelez to give you exclusive early access to the new Oreo flavor, Blackout Cake!
According to Oreo, the Blackout Cake cookie boasts layers of chocolate cake and dark chocolate cake-flavored cremes sandwiched between the classic chocolate wafers.
Walmart+ Benefits
This exclusive offer is just one of the many perks Walmart offers to its Walmart+ members. Launched in 2020 as a response to Amazon Prime, Walmart+ provides members with a range of benefits. During the 2022 holiday season, Walmart+ members enjoyed early access to Black Friday deals. Additionally, membership includes special discounts on streaming service Paramount+, free delivery for online orders, and savings at select gas stations.
While Walmart does not publicly disclose the exact number of Walmart+ members, estimates from the Consumer Intelligence Research Partners suggest that the platform had around 11 million members as of July 2022. This number is significantly lower than the estimated 168 million Amazon Prime members reported at the end of the previous year.
