Instagram, the popular photo-sharing platform owned by Meta, is reportedly testing an update that allows select users to post longer videos of up to 60 seconds on their Stories.
Extended Video Duration
According to reports, Instagram users in certain regions, such as Turkey, are being notified about this new feature. Previously, if a user uploaded or recorded a video longer than 15 seconds, it would automatically be divided into multiple Stories. However, with this update, users can now share videos up to a minute in length seamlessly on their Stories without the need for splitting.
Interface Improvements
In addition to extended video duration, Instagram is also experimenting with a redesigned interface for posting Stories. This revamped interface aims to streamline the process of tagging other accounts or adding location tags to a Story post. The new interface is expected to enhance user experience and make it more convenient to engage with content on the platform.
User Base and Growth
Recent reports have suggested that Instagram reached the milestone of 2 billion users shortly before Facebook rebranded itself as Meta in October. While Instagram has not officially disclosed its user numbers since surpassing the one billion monthly active users mark in June 2018, anonymous sources within the company have confirmed this significant achievement.
As Instagram continues to evolve and introduce new features like extended video duration for Stories and interface improvements, it remains one of the most popular social media platforms globally, attracting a diverse and engaged user base.
